WellSpace Health has operated a safety net clinic in midtown Sacramento since 1969, and is designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The J Street Community Health Center offers primary care, addiction and mental health treatment, and is the agency’s administrative headquarters. Clients and patients receive ‘suites’ of services – as reflected by the integrated behavioral health care model in the primary care clinic and in the organization’s leadership role delivering co-occurring mental health and substance use services.

Having reopened a shuttered county clinic, WellSpace Health now operates a full scope primary care clinic in the Oak Park Multiservice Center. Services in this women and children’s clinic include primary care, prenatal services, pediatrics, child and adult psychiatry, and counseling / psychotherapy. Children’s Dental Services are expected at this site in 2010.

WellSpace Health’s Employee Assistance Program also serves area agencies and corporations.

WellSpace Health’s North Highlands Multi-Service Center is our regional service delivery in the North Sacramento / North Highlands area. Starting as a Birth & Beyond program and drop-in Family Resource Center, the center is a locus of family support services including parenting groups, home visitation, and family resource acquisition. The center also offers Primary Care (Spring 2010), the ‘centering pregnancy’ clinical nurse midwifery program, child and adult psychiatry, counseling / psychotherapy, co-occurring addiction treatment services, and the school-based Family & Adolescent Skills Training (FAST) program. WellSpace Health’s Employee Assistance Program also serves area agencies and corporations. Children’s Dental Services are expected at this site in 2010.
North Sacramento

WellSpace Health operates a 45-bed adult residential rehabilitation program. WellSpace Health Residential Treatment Center is a mainstay in the region’s addiction treatment system, and has been in the vanguard of programs offering co-occurring mental health treatment. The program uses the evidence-based Modified Therapeutic Community model.

WellSpace Health operates an 18-bed Interim Care Program (ICP) and 5-bed ICP+ program within the Salvation Army. Working with the four hospital systems ICP and ICP+ receive homeless persons who are discharging from hospitals and whose health and recuperation would otherwise be compromised by their homelessness. This site is also an FQHC satellite medical clinic to the J Street Community Health Center.

As an FQHC satellite medical clinic to the J Street Community Health Center, WellSpace Health MLK Village clinic provides onsite primary care and behavioral health to residents of this permanent supportive housing program, including the 50 residents who are part of WellSpace Health’s Supportive Services Team (SST). Services are available to all MLK ‘villagers’ who are Effort clients.

WellSpace Health’s parent support line is available 24/7 to anyone who wants to talk about parenting, needs help accessing crisis nursery, or needs in-the-moment parenting support. Crisis counselors talk stressed parents down as well as offering validation and reassurance.
